BP Texas City alky, FCC expected back next week - source
NEW YORK, May 16 (Reuters) - BP's (BP.L: Quote, Profile, Research) alkylation unit at its 417,000 barrel per day Texas City refinery is in start-up and expected to come back online by the beginning of next week, along with a gasoline-making fluid catalytic cracker, a source familiar with refinery operations said Friday.
The 62,000 bpd fluid catalytic cracking unit restart depends on the successful restart of the 55,000 bpd alkylation unit by early next week, the source said.
An ultracracker at the refinery is also expected back up near the end of the month, the source said.
There is no restart date set for the 43,000 bpd coker, which was shut, along with the FCC, due to a late April glitch at the refinery. (Reporting by Rebekah Kebede; Editing by John Picinich)
