Barr up as Teva says to buy company
NEW YORK (Reuters) - Shares of Barr Pharmaceuticals Inc (BRL.N: Quote, Profile, Research) rose more than 8 percent to $61.95 before the bell on Friday after Israel-based Teva Pharmaceutical Industries (TEVA.O: Quote, Profile, Research)(TEVA.TA: Quote, Profile, Research) said it would buy the rival generic drugmaker for $7.46 billion.
Teva's U.S.-listed shares were little changed.
