GM Canada February 2009 Sales Results

OSHAWA, ONTARIO, Mar 03 (MARKET WIRE) --
"February was a low point right across the industry for new vehicle sales
and it was a tough month for GM Canada versus the relatively strong
February sales GM had in 2008," said Marc Comeau, GM of Canada's
vice-president of sales, service and marketing. "In addition to a planned
reduction in daily rental volume, we faced some tough incentive
competition that impacted our retail sales."

Comeau continued, "Despite these February results, GM Canada remains the
year to date market leader for sales in Canada and plans to maintain that
position. For March we are already stepping up our efforts to help
consumers get back into the market with exceptional new deals for buyers
of GM sub-compacts, small cars and vans. We are well positioned with
aggressive pricing, and more fuel efficient small and mid-sized cars and
hybrids than any other automaker."

GM has recently introduced our best price ever on the Chevrolet Uplander
and Pontiac Montana SV6 vans, starting from $15,000. Customers can also
purchase the Chevrolet Cobalt and Pontiac G5 XFE models, with segment
leading highway fuel efficiency, for $98 bi-weekly. And only GM dealers
and retailers offer three years no charge maintenance and two years XM
satellite radio and OnStar, all backed by the best coverage in Canada, 5
year/160,000km.
