(Reuters) - Following are security developments in Iraq at 5:00 p.m. British time on Tuesday.

* denotes new or updated item.

* ISKANDARIA - Sunni Arab and Shi'ite gunmen from rival tribes clashed in Iskandaria, 40 km (25 miles south of Baghdad), leaving two dead, police said.

* MOSUL - Militants fired mortars near a government building, wounding one civilian in Mosul, 390 km (240 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.

MOSUL - A suicide car bomber killed eight people and wounded a policeman in an attack on a police checkpoint in eastern Mosul, the U.S. military said.

MOSUL - A suicide bomber wearing an explosives vest killed four people and wounded five in a crowded area of west Mosul, police said.

MOSUL - A parked car bomb exploded by an army patrol in Mosul, wounding six people, including two Iraqi soldiers, police said.

BAQUBA - Two suicide bombers killed 27 people and wounded 68 others at a military recruitment centre in Diyala province, 65 km (40 miles) north of Baghdad, an Iraqi security source said. The U.S. military said 20 police recruits were killed and 55 wounded.

MOSUL - The bodies of two women were found on Monday with gunshot wounds in Mosul, police said.  Continued...
