LONDON (Reuters) - The Queen has made an undisclosed "significant" personal donation to the Myanmar cyclone fund, Buckingham Palace said on Tuesday.

The Queen is a patron of the Red Cross which is one of the charities helping in the aftermath of cyclone Nargis which struck a week ago.

"We can confirm the Queen has made a significant personal donation to the Burma cyclone relief appeal," a palace spokeswoman said.

In its latest assessment, the United Nations estimated between 1.2 million and 1.9 million people are struggling to survive in the wake of the cyclone. Up to 102,000 have died.
