EU suspends review of Statoil/ConocoPhillips deal
BRUSSELS (Reuters) - The European Commission on Wednesday suspended its investigation of plans by Norway's StatoilHydro (STL.OL) to buy 274 automated petrol stations in Norway, Sweden and Denmark from ConocoPhillips (COP.N).
The deal was under an in-depth investigation on competition grounds and the due date for a decision had been September 18.
A suspension occurs because a company has failed to provide information needed by the Commission to judge a deal. The suspension will end when the information is provided.
