Lupin settles patent suit with Schering-Plough

MUMBAI, Dec 17 (Reuters) - Indian drug maker Lupin Ltd (LUPN.BO) said on Wednesday it had settled a patent litigation with U.S.-based Schering-Plough Corp (SGP.N) relating to desloratadine tablets.

The drug is the generic version of Schering-Plough's Clarinex tablets, used to treat allergies.

Under the terms of the settlement, Lupin will be able to commercially launch its tablets on July 1, 2012, Lupin said in a statement. (Reporting by Bharghavi Nagaraju; Editing by Charlotte Cooper)
