Murgitroyd FY pretax profit flat

Sept 1 (Reuters) - European patent and trade mark attorney Murgitroyd Group Plc (MURG.L) on Monday reported a flat full-year pretax profit of 2.9 million pounds and said the new financial year has started positively.

It added, however, while market conditions remain good it is cautious in light of the current uncertain economic environment.

Murgitroyd, which had last month said full-year results would be in line with expectations, said operating profit, before a lease provision of 200,000 pounds, rose 6.3 percent to 3.4 million pounds, while turnover increased 12.7 percent to 25.7 million pounds.

It proposed a final dividend of 6.5 pence a share, raising the total dividend to 9.5 pence from 9.0 pence last year.
