UPDATE 1-O2Micro gives Q3 rev view below estimates

Oct 1 (Reuters) - O2Micro International Ltd (OIIM.O) (0457.HK), a maker of power management and security components for various industries, forecast lower-than-expected revenue for the third quarter amid tight market conditions.

For the quarter ended Sept. 30, the company now expects revenue to be $37 million to $38 million.

Analysts on average were expecting the company to post revenue of $41.4 million, according to Reuters Estimates.

For the same period, the company expects a slight growth in the gross margin sequentially and also sees research and development expenses to be above second quarter.
