EVERCORE PARTNERS INC (EVR.N: Quote, Profile, Research)

Evercore, an investment banking boutique and investment management firm, hired Robert Pacha as a senior managing director overseeing its midstream energy practice. He joins from Bank of America Corp (BAC.N: Quote, Profile, Research), where he led the bank's midstream energy and master limited partnership practice. Pacha, 40, will establish Evercore's office in Houston.

AQUILINE CAPITAL PARTNERS

Aquiline Capital Partners, a private equity firm, said it has hired former Wachovia Corp Chairman and Chief Executive Ken Thompson. The Charlotte Observer said Thompson is working as a senior adviser, spending time in New York and in Charlotte, North Carolina, and has worked at Aquiline for several months.

Ernst & Young named Jeffrey Taylor as Americas leader of the fraud investigation and dispute services unit within its Americas assurance practice. He was previously U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia.
