* Says shares delisted from TSX on April 6

April 7 (Reuters) - Canada's Railpower Technologies Corp, which is under court protection from creditors, said the Quebec Superior Court extended its period of protection by an additional two weeks until April 20, as the locomotive builder develops a restructuring plan.

The company also said its shares were delisted from the Toronto Stock Exchange on April 6.

Railpower has been under court protection under the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act (Canada) (CCAA) since Feb. 4.

Railpower said if any additional extension is sought, it intends to request the court to relieve the company of its obligation to call and hold an annual meeting of shareholders on or before June 30. (Reporting by Ashutosh Joshi in Bangalore; Editing by Vinu Pilakkott)
