UPDATE 1-DigitalGlobe Q3 tops Street, raises 2009 outlook

Nov 9 (Reuters) - Satellite imagery company DigitalGlobe Inc (DGI.N) posted better-than-expected quarterly results, helped by continued strength in its key customer segments, and boosted its outlook for 2009.
For the third quarter, the company posted a profit of $14.6 million, or 32 cents a share, compared with $14.3 million, or 32 cents, a year earlier.
Revenue rose 8 percent to $71.8 million.
Analysts on average were expecting a profit of 25 cents a share, on revenue of $68 million, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S.
DigitalGlobe, which is reporting its second quarter as a public company, said it now expects 2009 profit to range between $1.00 and $1.05 a share, up from its previous forecast of 80 cents to 90 cents. [ID:nWNAB3280]
The company, which launched WorldView-2 satellite on Oct. 8, said it expects imagery from the satellite to be commercially available about 90 days following the launch.
