Nov 9 (Reuters) - Sauer-Danfoss Inc (SHS.N), which makes hydraulic and electronic systems for mobile equipment, posted a quarterly loss, hurt by restructuring and severance costs and decline in new orders, and reiterated its full-year 2009 loss outlook.

For the third quarter, the company reported a net loss of $70.8 million, or $1.46 cents a share, compared with net income of $10.9 million, or 22 cents a share, a year ago.

The quarterly results include restructuring and severance costs of $13.2 million, or 25 cents per share, the company said in a statement.

Revenue for the quarter fell 48 percent to $253.1 million.

One analyst expected the company to post a loss of $1.12 a share, before items, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S.
