AVIVA INVESTORS

The asset management business operated by affiliates of the British insurance group by the same name (AV.L), appointed Erich Gerth, most recently CEO of Janus Capital's (JNS.N) Janus International unit, to lead Aviva's business development and marketing capabilities.

E*TRADE FINANCIAL CORP ETFC.0

The discount brokerage named Karl Roessner, most recently a partner in the mergers and acquisitions group of Clifford Chance US LLP, as executive vice president and general counsel, effective immediately. Roessner, who will report to Donald Layton, the company's chairman and CEO, previously represented E*Trade in various acquisitions and sales in recent years.

BANK OF NEW YORK MELLON (BK.N)

The trust bank has named Timothy Keaney as its new head of global client management and chairman of Europe, a job in which he will be responsible for franchise clients across all business lines and products worldwide. Keaney, who will relocate to London from New York, where he is based, will also keep his existing title of co-CEO of BNY Mellon Asset Servicing.
