May 19 (Reuters) - Japan's largest retailer Seven & I Holdings Co (3382.T) plans to market its private-brand products worldwide, targeting sales of 1 trillion yen ($10.38 billion) by the end of fiscal 2012, the Nikkei business daily reported.

The products will be sold mostly through the company's 36,000 convenience stores, operated in Japan by Seven-Eleven Japan Co and overseas by U.S. unit 7-Eleven Inc, the daily said.

By fiscal 2010, Seven & I aims to develop a lineup of around 100 items, which will include food products using those ingredients as well as potato chips and dry-cell batteries, Nikkei said.

The company intends to release wine in Japan and the United States this fall, Nikkei added.

In addition to joint ingredients procurement, the companies would use the same factories and manufacturers for outsourcing production, but tastes and serving sizes will be altered to meet the preferences of local consumers, the paper said.
