RBS (RBS.L)
The part-nationalized lender named Peter Najarian, formerly managing director and head of Asia-Pacific fixed income client coverage at UBS (UBSN.VX) (UBS.N), as global head of local markets sales within its global banking and markets unit. To be based in Stamford, Connecticut, Najarian will report to Brian Reid, RBS's global head of institutional coverage, research and strategy and to Garry Cottle, global head of corporate risk solutions for GBM.
HSBC HOLDINGS PLC (HSBA.L)
Europe's biggest bank named Paulo Maia as the next chief executive of its Australian operations, replacing Stuart Davis, who will move to India to head Hongkong & Shanghai Banking Corp operations in that country.
Maia, who is currently deputy chief executive of HSBC's business in Brazil, will take up the top job in Australia from July 1.
