Nov 10 (Reuters) - Marketing group 4imprint Group Plc (FOUR.L) said on Tuesday its third-quarter sales fell 3 percent, but sales and order inflows in October were modestly encouraging.

4imprint said sales for the three months ended Sept. 26 fell to 41.16 million pounds ($68.97 million), but sales for the first nine months rose marginally to 122.12 million pounds ($204.6 million) from 120.5 million pounds. However, sales at constant currencies for the nine-month period were down 13 percent from year-ago levels, said 4imprint, which distributes promotional items mainly to corporate clients.

The company said three-month sales at its direct marketing unit rose 9 percent from 2008 levels, while sales at its end user unit and trade unit were down 23 percent and 13 percent, respectively.

4imprint shares were indicated 5.6 percent down to 135 pence at 0836 GMT on the London Stock Exchange. ($1=.5968 Pound) (Reporting by Kumar Alagappan in Bangalore; Editing by Ratul Ray Chaudhuri)
