Barroso says Microsoft ruling upholds EU antitrust role

BRUSSELS (Reuters) - The president of the European Commission said on Monday a European Union court ruling that upheld the EU executive's antitrust decision against Microsoft had confirmed the credibility of its antitrust role.

"This judgement confirms the objectivity and the credibility of the Commission's competition policy," Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso said in a statement.

Pound picking up strength
