India may cut fuel prices by about 10 pct by Jan-end
NEW DELHI, Jan 7 (Reuters) - India may cut prices of petrol, diesel and cooking gas by around 10 percent by the end of this month, the oil minister, Murli Deora, told reporters on Wednesday.
"The price cut is under active consideration. In two to three weeks, a decision will be taken," he said.
In December, the government cut gasoline prices by 10 percent and diesel by about 6 percent.
"The cut may be as much as much last time, or may be even more," Deora said. (Reporting by Nidhi Verma and Manoj Kumar; Editing by Mark Williams)
