Eni, Qatar sign hydrocarbons MOU
ROME, April 20 (Reuters) - Qatar signed on Sunday a hydrocarbons memorandum of understanding with Italy's Eni (ENI.MI), Qatari Oil Minister Abdullah al-Attiyah said.
ENI signed the MOU with Qatar Petroleum International, a wholly owned subsisidiary of Qatar Petroleum "to seek joint investment opportunites in international projects in the exploration and production sector," a joint statement said.
Eni CEO Paolo Scaroni told the news conference at which the deal was unveiled that his company was bidding for four exploration blocks offshore Qatar. "We are bidding, we are working for four blocks offshore," he said.
