Thales sees Airbus Laupheim deal in weeks
FARNBOROUGH (Reuters) - France's Thales expects to reach a final deal to buy an Airbus cabins factory in Laupheim, Germany, in a few weeks, Chief Executive Denis Ranque said on Tuesday.
Thales is bidding for the plant together with German conglomerate Diehl.
"We think we will conclude negotiations in the next weeks and with luck within a small number of weeks," Ranque told Reuters at the Farnborough air show.
"There are a few details left to finalise," he added.
Airbus is selling the plant as part of its Power8 restructuring plans.
It is also in advanced talks to sell its Filton wings factory in Britain to UK aerospace firm GKN.
