Cricket-Morkel added to South Africa squad for England ODIs
JOHANNESBURG, Nov 24 (Reuters) - South Africa have called up fast bowler Morne Morkel for the rest of the one-day series with England, Cricket South Africa (CSA) said on Tuesday.
The 25-year-old, who has captured 31 wickets in 21 one-dayers, will join the squad on Wednesday ahead of the third game in the five-match series in Cape Town on Friday.
"He (Morkel) has shown good form in domestic cricket this season and was also impressive in the 50 overs match for South Africa A against England a week ago," Mike Procter, South Africa's convener of selectors, said in a statement.
"He will definitely form part of our plans for the test series as well so the sooner we have him involved with the team the better," he added.
Morkel last played an ODI for his country when he turned out against Australia in Johannesburg in April this year.
England lead the series 1-0 after the first match was abandoned because of rain.
