-- Recent sharp fluctuations of the dollar against the Vietnamese dong has caused difficulty for domestic enterprises, so exchange rate insurance is helpful for them as Vietnam integrates into the world's economy, economists said.

-- Foreign investors could be able to acquire a larger stake in Vietnamese state-owned enterprises under a new draft regulation on foreign ownership caps published for consultation. The current cap is 30 percent.

-- Singapore's TA Associates International, a subsidiary of Taiwanese firm Teco, and SaigonTel SGT.HM received an investment certificate last week for their $1.2 billion project to build Thu Thiem software park in Ho Chi Minh City for opening in 2011. SaigonTel has a 20 percent stake in the project.
