-- Russian billionaire Oleg Deripaska, who controls the world's largest aluminium company UC Rusal, said a Hong Kong director would be appointed to the board of Rusal ahead of its initial public offering of up to $3 billion in Hong Kong and Paris.

HONG KONG ECONOMIC JOURNAL

-- NWS Holdings (0659.HK) said it was continuing talks regarding the sale of its interest in Taifook Securities (0665.HK), although no agreement had been reached and no definitive terms had been determined.

-- Chinese property developer Country Garden (2007.HK) said its property sales totalled 19.3 billion yuan ($2.83 billion) for the year to Oct. 15, exceeding its full-year sales target of 19 billion yuan.

MING PAO

-- Footwear retailer Le Saunda (0738.HK), which posted a 9.7 percent drop in interim profit to HK$36.28 million (US$4.7 million), plans to expand the number of its self-operated stores in China to 800 by the end of next year, according to chief executive officer Lau Shun-wai.

SING TAO DAILY
