* MOSUL - U.S. forces killed a man driving an ambulance rigged with a suicide bomb towards them in the city of Mosul 390 km (240 miles) north of Baghdad, the U.S. military said.
* MAHMUDIYA - U.S. forces detained 17 suspected insurgents during combat operations in Mahmudiya, 30 km (20 miles) south of Baghdad, the U.S. military said.
BAGHDAD - U.S. forces killed one insurgent and detained nine other suspects during operations on Saturday and Sunday to disrupt al Qaeda networks operating in Mosul, Tikrit, Samarra and Baghdad, the U.S. military said.
BAGHDAD - The Iraqi army arrested 45 insurgents during the last 24 hours in different parts of Iraq, the Defence Ministry said.
BAGHDAD - A bomb planted in a car killed three people and wounded six in the Baladiyat district of eastern Baghdad, police said.
MUSSAYAB - Police retrieved two bodies, shot and stabbed, from the Euphrates river near the town of Mussayab, 60 km (40 miles) south of Baghdad, police said.
BAGHDAD - A roadside bomb targeting a U.S. patrol killed three civilians and wounded four in the Doura district of southern Baghdad, police said. Continued...
