Peter Rutherford is an avid amateur golfer working on Reuters' Asia Sports desk in Singapore and with Reuters for nearly five years. In the following story, he describes what it was like to be completely outplayed by one of the world's top women golfers.

SINGAPORE (Reuters) - Following are some tips for an amateur playing 18 holes with Christina Kim, one of the world's top women golfers.

* Do not try to hit the ball farther than her. You cannot.

* If strong language offends you, find another playing partner.

* She is much, much better than you. Live with it.

* Bring an emergency pair of trousers.

Getting an invitation to play in a traditional Pro-Am event with one of the world's best ahead of the $2 million (994,000 pound) HSBC Women's Champions tournament in Singapore filled me with excitement and dread.

Christina Kim has the golfing world at her feet. The bubbly, boisterous, beret-wearing 23-year-old has earned nearly $2.5 million since her rookie year in 2003.  Continued...
