- Malaysia's fourth-largest lender RHB Capital (RHBC.KL) to
announce at a news conference its acquisition of a controlling

- Malaysian Palm Oil Council organises seminar on the life
cycle assessment for palm oil production that is used to
calculate the amount of greenhouse gases emitted. Crown Plaza

conference on "Beyond the Global Crisis: A New Asian Growth

 MARKET SNAPSHOTS
 * Malaysia's benchmark stock index .KLSE gained 0.8 percent
on Friday with Public Bank (PUBM.KL) up 0.4 percent after a
broker raised its call on the bank to buy and Bursa Malaysia
(BMYS.KL) gained 0.5 percent after reporting higher profits.

 * U.S. stocks fell on Friday after disappointing results from
General Electric Co (GE.N) and Bank of America Corp (BAC.N)
demonstrated the road to economic recovery will be bumpy.[.N]
 * Crude oil rose to a one-year high above $78 a barrel on
Friday after data showed U.S. industrial production expanded in
September, boosting optimism for an economic recovery. [O/R]

 * Malaysian palm oil futures jumped 3.2 percent on Friday,
bouncing from one-week lows hit the previous day after crude

 ASIA MARKETS NEWS - For an outlook of Asian stock trading,

step with local stocks after two days of losses sparked by
concerns over the health of the country's king, while the
Singapore dollar's gains were limited by talk of official
