BIRMINGHAM (Reuters) - Here are reactions from party delegates to Prime Minister Gordon Brown's speech and 45-minute question and answer session at the Labour Party Conference on Saturday.

- Patricia Black, a party member from Belfast: "I thought he was inspiring. I thought he was in touch with people and local issues. I just feel uplifted."

- Walsall councillor Mohammad Nazir: "It was an outstanding speech. It was coming from the depths of his heart and what he genuinely believes in."

- Bath and North East Somerset councillor David Speirs: "I thought it was really good. I thought he came across as very confident, and very assured in what he was saying. At this point of the year it really is important for the local elections that we have a rallying call from our leader and I think we got that today."

- Hilary Thornton, a party member from Walsall, said Brown seemed "much more relaxed, much more confident" than when giving his debut speech to party members in Bournemouth last September.
