Allianz considering big UK acquisition

LONDON (Reuters) - German insurer Allianz SE (ALVG.DE) is considering a big acquisition in the British general insurance market, The Financial Times reported on Friday.

Allianz was not immediately available for comment.

The FT quoted Allianz management board member Clement Booth as saying Allianz was keen to increase its presence in Britain's commercial and retail insurance markets and there was no upper limit on the size of any deal.

Credit headwind
