Kenya finmin urges calm and says shilling in control
NAIROBI (Reuters) - Kenyan Finance Minister Amos Kimunya said on Wednesday the shilling was "within control" amid post-election violence, and added that most investors were taking a wait-and-see attitude.
"(The Central Bank) has not raised any alarm. (The shilling) is within control. The international investors don't just start selling investments and leave. People will be on a wait-and-see attitude so there will be little trading," he told Reuters.
"We still have a good comfort zone, so we are not panicking on that," he said, urging calm.
