LONDON, Jan 3 (Reuters) - Soccer news in brief from around the world:

* Boca Juniors have agreed to sell Argentina under-20 midfielder Ever Banega to Valencia for $26 million.

"The good thing about this deal is it was done club to club with no middlemen," club director Jose Beraldi told Boca's Web site (www.bocajuniors.com.ar). "There are just some contract details to settle before the player travels to Spain."

Banega, 19, made his debut in February.

* Uruguay forward Sebastian Abreu has joined Argentina's River Plate from Mexican club Tigres UANL, said River director Mario Israel in a radio interview.

Abreu, a free agent, has scored 19 goals in 36 international appearances.   Continued...
