LONDON (Reuters) - Prince "Wild Child" Harry is becoming an embarrassment to Britain, veteran royal photographer Arthur Edwards said on Thursday.

"He should be behaving a lot better," Edwards said of the prince when asked about images of the third in line to the throne leaving nightclubs the worse for wear.

Speaking to BBC News 24's current affairs interview show Hard Talk, Edwards said: "I think Prince Harry is dangerously becoming an embarrassment to this country."

"He knows that if he goes to these nightclubs, paparazzi hang around. It's par for the course," Edwards said of the prince.

The 22-year-old prince and younger son of the late Princess Diana has been training as an army officer for deployment to Iraq next month. He will become the first royal in 25 years to serve in a war zone.

Harry, dubbed a "wild child" by royalty-obsessed tabloids, has often garnered headlines for all the wrong reasons.

He scuffled with paparazzi outside a London nightclub and sparked outrage by dressing as a Nazi officer at a costume party. He later apologised for the offence caused.
