UPDATE 1-Acciona signs 1.7 bln euro syndicated loan
(Adds details, background)
MADRID, July 4 (Reuters) - Spanish services company Acciona (ANA.MC) has taken out a syndicated loan for 1.704 billion euros ($2.71 billion) to refinance debt linked to the purchase of its stake in power firm Endesa (ELE.MC), Acciona said on Friday.
The syndicated banks were Santander (SAN.MC), BBVA (BBVA.MC), ING, La Caixa, RBS (RBS.L), Caja Madrid, Calyon and Natixis, Acciona added in a statement.
The loan was linked to some four percent out of the 25 percent stake that Acciona took in Endesa after a 42.5 billion euro bidding contest in alliance with Italy's Enel (ENEI.MI), which has some 70 percent.
Enel and Acciona trumped competing bids from Germany's E.ON EONG.DE and Gas Natural (GAS.MC).
Acciona added that the new loan raised the annual cost of servicing the total debt taken on to buy its Endesa stake by 19 basis points to 5.77 percent. (Reporting by Martin Roberts; Editing by Quentin Bryar)
