Two held over teen's knife murder
LONDON (Reuters) - Police have arrested two men in connection with the murder of a teenager stabbed to death in southeast London, a police spokesman said on Sunday.
The men, both aged in their 20s, were detained on Saturday and are being questioned at a south London police station.
The victim, who has not been named, died in an attack in a block of flats in Erith. Two other youths were also stabbed and were taken to the Royal London Hospital.
One of the youths is in a serious but stable condition and the second has been discharged. All three are in their mid- to late-teens.
"We are investigating the circumstances of the incident," the Metropolitan Police said. No more details of the attack or the victims were released.
Forensic experts searched the scene of the attack, a 1960s housing estate with seven tower blocks.
The killing comes after an 18-year-old was fatally stabbed in north London on New Year's Day.
And on December 27, Nassirudeen Osawe, 16, was killed in a knife attack at a bus stop in Islington.
Osawe's death took the toll of teenagers murdered in the capital last year to 27, fuelling concerns about inner city violence.
