Bookmakers see major European indexes up 0.8-1 pct
LONDON, July 30 (Reuters) - Major European indexes are set to open sharply higher on Wednesday, tracking gains in the United States and Asia on hopes that the worst news from U.S. banks might be over and after oil prices CLc1 eased.
Financial spreadbetters expected Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE to open 46 to 51 points higher, or as much as 1 percent, Germany's DAX .GDAXI to open up 48 to 52 points, or as much as 0.8 percent, and France's CAC-40 .FCHI to be 36 to 40 points higher, or as much as 0.9 percent.
The FTSEurofirst 300 .FTEU3 index of top European companies closed 0.3 percent higher at 1,162.57 points, while the FTSE 100 ended up 0.1 percent, the DAX rose 0.75 percent and the CAC-40 eased 0.1 percent. (Reporting by Dominic Lau; Editing by Tomasz Janowski)
