LONDON (Reuters) - The bodies of two young children aged under six have been found at an address in south London, Scotland Yard said on Saturday.

Officers have arrested a man in his 60s and a woman in her 20s.

The adults were held after a member of the public reported an incident involving the pair and a young girl on a Thornton Heath street at around 9:30 a.m.

The girl was taken to a south London hospital where she is receiving treatment.

On making further inquiries officers went to a nearby address and found the two bodies.

The arrested man and woman remain in custody at south London police stations.
