FRANKFURT, July 8 (Reuters) - Consolidation in the chemical industry will accelerate, with cost pressure as a key driver, the Chief Executive of BASF (BASF.DE) said on Tuesday.
"Sector consolidation will accelerate," CEO Juergen Hambrecht told investors. He said lower asset prices and financial investors getting into "deep trouble" would also drive consolidation.
