Paisley becomes Northern Ireland's first minister

BELFAST (Reuters) - Hardline Protestant cleric Ian Paisley was sworn in on Tuesday as first minister of Northern Ireland, launching a new power-sharing, home-rule government aimed at putting an end to decades of violence.

Sinn Fein's Martin McGuinness was also sworn in as Paisley's deputy in line with an agreement between the province's main Roman Catholic and Protestant groups.

Even as authorities try to stamp out that con and other e-mail and online scams, scammers are getting more wily and finding new loopholes to exploit. The vast majority of e-mail is spam and an unknown percentage of that is meant to defraud.
