Grangemouth nearly back, unions talk
LONDON (Reuters) - The 200,000 barrels per day Grangemouth refinery in Scotland has resumed almost full production after closing last month for a two-day strike, the plant's owner Ineos said on Friday.
"Broadly speaking, Grangemouth is back at full production," said a spokesman, adding a couple of units at the refinery had yet to resume normal output.
The refinery was forced to close for safety reasons due to the strike which was called in a dispute over pensions.
Management and officials from the UNITE trade union met on Friday and agreed to a series of meetings to discuss the dispute, Ineos said.
The closure of the refinery disrupted fuel supplies in Scotland and led to the closure of the Forties oil pipeline which halved the UK's North Sea crude production.
