Bush says unauthorised Jewish outposts "ought to go"

JERUSALEM (Reuters) - U.S. President George W. Bush said on Wednesday Israel should remove Jewish settlements built without Israeli government authorisation in the West Bank.

"Outposts, yeah, they ought to go," Bush, on the first day of a three-day visit to Israel and the occupied West Bank, said at a joint news conference with Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, who has pledged to remove them but has not given a timeframe.
