Report says Airbus CEO slams inquiry leak
FRANKFURT (Reuters) - Airbus Chief Executive Tom Enders slammed leaks from an insider trading investigation into Airbus parent EADS (EAD.PA) and was sure the suspects would be cleared, a report quoted him as saying.
French stock market regulator AMF had said on April 1 it had handed a report into alleged insider dealing to the public prosecutor.
"As the head of Airbus, as a member of the EADS top team, I stand up to say I'm absolutely convinced that we will refute all allegations," Enders said in a transcript of a media briefing provided by TV New Zealand.
"And the whole EADS group's board of directors is convinced none of the managers was involved in wrongdoing and will defend these managers and our reputation with all vigour."
Specialist news website www.mediapart.fr on Tuesday published what it said was the AMF report detailing reasons why a group of 17 top managers at EADS and Airbus might have sold shares with insider knowledge.
AMF declined to say on Tuesday whether the website's report was authentic.
Enders said EADS had been subject to leaks that were damaging the reputation of the company and of its managers.
"I know I've committed no wrongdoing, and I say the same for all the managers that are supposedly involved in that," he added. "Our names are dragged into the mud, so to say, and we are like sitting ducks
