Telefonica says 200,000 signed up for Spain iPhone
MADRID (Reuters) - Telefonica said on Thursday around 200,000 people have registered for Apple Inc's iPhone, which the telecoms group launches in Spain on Friday.
Telefonica will be the exclusive operator "for a long time", said the group's head of its Spanish mobiles unit Belen Amatriain at a conference to launch the mobile phone.
The price for the 3G iPhone will depend on the contract and could be anything from zero to 359 euros.
The new iPhone, which runs on a faster network than its predecessor, will be launched in 21 countries simultaneously on Friday.
