Senna's nephew a winner in F1 support series
BARCELONA (Reuters) - Bruno Senna, nephew of Brazil's late triple Formula One champion Ayrton, stood on top of the podium at the Spanish Grand Prix on Saturday after winning one of the weekend's two GP2 support races.
The victory, with the Arden team, was the 23-year-old's first in a championship won in 2006 by Britain's Lewis Hamilton before he graduated to Ayrton Senna's old McLaren team as a Formula One driver.
Senna is now third in the series, led by Germany's Timo Glock.
"As a race winner, I wish him well," said McLaren boss Ron Dennis, asked to comment on Senna's success after just three starts in the series.
"But I don't think one should put too much emphasis on people's names," added Dennis. "People should be measured on their own achievements, not by their family name."
Ayrton Senna, who died in a Williams at Imola in 1994, won his three titles with McLaren.
