Kazakhstan copper output down 12.9 pct in 2007
ALMATY, Feb 13 (Reuters) - Kazakhstan's refined copper output fell 12.9 percent year-on-year to 29,489 tonnes in January 2007, the state statistics agency said on Wednesday.
It said zinc production fell 4.7 percent to 30,967 tonnes, while alumina output rose 8.9 percent to 141,446 tonnes in the same period.
Kazakhstan's biggest copper producer is London-listed Kazakhmys (KAZ.L).
Zinc is produced by Kazzinc, owned by Switzerland-based trading company Glencore [GLEN.UL], and alumina by Alyumini Kazakhstan ALKZ.KZ, part of the London-listed ENRC (ENRC.L).
