Kazakhstan Jan-Sept copper, zinc output down
ALMATY, Oct 15 (Reuters) - Kazakhstan's refined copper output fell 4.1 percent year-on-year to 297,017 tonnes in January-September, the statistics agency said on Monday.
It said zinc production fell 2.6 percent to 266,061 tonnes, while alumina output was unchanged and stood at 1.149 million tonnes in the same period.
Kazakhstan's biggest copper producer is London-listed Kazakhmys (KAZ.L).
Zinc is produced by Kazzinc, owned by Switzerland-based trading company Glencore, and alumina by Alyumini Kazakhstan ALKZ.KZ, part of the Eurasian Industrial Association majority owned by billionaire Alexander Mashkevich and two partners.
