UPDATE 1-Magyar Telekom to take 50.6 bln forint EIB loan

BUDAPEST, June 16 (Reuters) - Magyar Telekom MTEL.BU has taken out a long-term loan worth 50.6 billion forints ($315.1 million) from the European Investment Bank (EIB) to finance mobile broadband investments, the company said on Monday.
The loan, granted through a financing body of Magyar's parent company Deutsche Telekom (DTEGn.DE), will mature in 2015 and bears a fixed interest rate, it said.
While the company did not provide further guidance on pricing, it said conditions of the loan were better than those available in the Hungarian market.
Magyar Telekom agreed with the government last year to extend the terms of its mobile network licence for another 7-1/2 years for 10 billion forints and invest 20 billion forints on top of existing plans this year and next into mobile broadband.
"This (loan) may be part of the extension of the mobile network licence, under which they agreed to develop mobile broadband," said analyst Peter Dobar at CIB Bank.
At 1413 GMT, Magyar Telekom stock traded down 2.04 percent at 769 forints on the Budapest bourse, when the wider market was down 1.09 percent. (Reporting by Gergely Szakacs, editing by Will Waterman)
