MILAN, Sept 1 (Reuters) - A court granted heavily indebted Italian real estate company Risanamento SpA (RN.MI) more time to file a restructuring plan as it seeks to fend off bankruptcy.
The Milan bankruptcy court put back the deadline for filing the plan to Sept. 9, Risanamento lawyer Marco De Luca told Reuters on Tuesday. Magistrates had set a Tuesday deadline.
Risanamento, one of the biggest builders in Italy's business capital Milan, has amassed 2.8 billion euros ($4.0 billion) in debt as the global downturn soured real estate markets.
At 1038 GMT, Risanamento shares were down 4.7 percent at 0.503 euro. Continued...
