Soccer-Goal flurry leads Sporting to emphatic win over Nacional
LISBON, March 17 (Reuters) - Sporting scored three times in as many second-half minutes to record a 4-1 home win over Nacional Madeira in the Portuguese Premier League on Monday.
Brazilian striker Liedson shot the UEFA Cup quarter-finalists into a 55th-minute lead and captain Joao Moutinho made it 2-0 a minute later.
Liedson then made sure of victory with his second goal of the game in the 57th.
Sporting missed a penalty before winger Yannick Djalo completed the rout after a goalmouth scramble in the 65th.
Winger Marcelo Lipatin headed a consolation goal for Nacional with one minute left.
Porto, who won 2-1 at struggling Leixoes on Saturday, are 16 points clear at the top with seven matches remaining.
Benfica are second with the same points total (41) as Vitoria Guimaraes. Vitoria Setubal and Sporting, fourth and fifth respectively, are also level on points (37).
