LONDON (Reuters) - The husband of an award-winning television make-up artist has been charged with her murder, police said on Saturday.

The body of Diane Chenery-Wickens, from Duddleswell in East Sussex, who had not been seen since she vanished from her home in January, was discovered hidden near a lane in Little Horsted, near Uckfield, on Thursday.

Police said 51-year-old David Chenery-Wickens, also from Duddleswell, has been charged with murder. He is due to appear at Hastings Magistrates' Court later on Saturday. There was no immediate comment from him or a representative.

Chenery-Wickens won an Emmy for the TV mini-series "Arabian Nights" in 2000 and was nominated for Baftas for her work on the BBC show "Dead Ringers" in 2004 and 2005.

She had also worked on a variety of BBC shows and dramas including "Pride and Prejudice", "The League of Gentlemen" and "Big Train".
