Soccer-Euro-Italy beat France to take quarter-final place

VIENNA, June 17 (Reuters) - World champions Italy beat France 2-0 in Zurich to go through to the quarter-finals of Euro 2008 as runners up in Group C on Tuesday.

Italy will meet Group D winners Spain in the last eight in Vienna on Sunday.

Netherlands, already through as group winners, beat Romania 2-0 in Berne.

The Dutch finished with nine points ahead of Italy on four. Romania with two and France with one are eliminated.
